Camp Recreational Lead 

Ensure the safety, well-being and personal growth of campers. Be an active and supportive member of Camp Bethel’s team and Bethel Deliverance International Church. The Recreational Leader must also demonstrate attributes of a positive, professional role modeling at all times, acting in a manner that is consistent with the code of conduct and the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the camp.

Under the direction and supervision of the camp director, the recreation leader plans, promotes and coordinates all physical and recreational activities of all campers.

This includes but is not limited to rational sports, exercise, nature activities, crafts, games, songs and other indoor/ outdoor activities.

Essential Duties

  • Strong desire to work with children of all ages
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills – comfortable with communicating with campers, fellow staff, church leaders and staff, parents, etc.)
  • Ability to show strong leadership, patience and understanding; a positive attitude, dependability and a high level of creativity
  • Promote campers participation in all activities
  • Aid in planning, carrying out and the evaluation of projects and activities for multiple age groups
  • Coordinates with Camp Leaders to lead all events and activities while adhering to safety guidelines and procedures
  • Complete report of any injury, accidents and other incidents in prompt and effect

 Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Experience conducting recreational actives is a plus along with a passion for working with children.
  • Must be available for the entire summer season (8 weeks) is expected.
  • Ability to participate in recreational activities; strength to lift and carry 25 pounds or more;
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. 

Recreational Assistant 

Work with Camp Director in conducting the organized recreational activities of the Camp. 

Chaperone assigned group(s) on all trips and outings. 

Assist with Camp activities as needed. 

Being energetic and enthusiastic in conducting group activities. 

Follow all policies and procedures as instructed and maintain 

standards of biblical holiness. 


Food Preparation Lead

Monday - Friday (Eight week camp season)

Hours:  (Candidate must be flexible) 

Responsibilities include preparation of breakfast and lunch food items for our summer camp season. 

  • Attend required training.
  • Estimates food orders based upon current camp population and planned menu.
  • Monitor inventory food levels and conditions; order food products and supplies accurately in a timely manner, assure proper storage and rotation of products.
  • Receives and examines food deliveries and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.
  • Help develop a menu based on the Summer Food Service Program (“SFSP”) meal pattern, and apply personal knowledge and experience in food preparation.
  • Plan, prepare and oversee the preparation and service of quality meals ensuring that each meal meets the SFSP nutritional standards.
  • Conduct pre-meal walk through daily to monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas.
  • Complete delivery and daily food service logs.
  • Interact with camp and administrative staff and attend weekly meetings to accomplish common goals in a timely manner.
  • Resolve minor food preparation concerns, when needed.
  • Perform others duties as required.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED Certificate.

  • Must have at least two years of experience working with food preparation and love children.
  • Availability for the entire summer season (8 weeks) is expected. 

Food Preparation Assistant

Monday - Friday (Eight week camp season)

Hours:  (Candidate must be flexible)

Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Food Prep with preparation of breakfast and lunch food items for our summer camp season. 

Attend required training.

  • Provide support by monitoring food inventory levels and conditions; order food products and supplies accurately in a timely manner, assure proper storage and rotation of products.
  • Ensure timely receipt and inspection of food deliveries and supplies in accordance with established standards and specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness, proper sanitation and organization of meal and general work areas.
  • Provide support in the completing delivery and daily food service logs.
  • Ability to interact with camp and administrative staff and attend weekly meetings to accomplish common goals in a timely manner.
  • Perform others duties as required.

 Qualifications:

 A high school diploma or GED Certificate.

  • Experience working with food preparation is a plus along with a passion for working with children.
  • Must be available for the entire summer season (8 weeks) is expected.

Group Leaders 

• Work with Assistants to ensure children are accounted for at all times. 

• Conduct group activities in an energetic and enthusiastic manner. 

• Keep group areas neat and clean daily. 

• Chaperone assigned groups on all trips and outings. 

• Ensure campers are in the designated areas for daily dismissal. 

• Initiate direction, planning, directing and coordinating activities for children. 

• Maintain structure for all activities. 

• Follow all policies and procedures as instructed and maintain standards of biblical holiness.  


Group Assistants 

• Work with Group Leaders to ensure children are accounted for at all times. 

• Keep group areas neat and clean daily. 

• Chaperone assigned groups on all trips and outings. 

Assist with group activities in an energetic and enthusiastic manner. 

• Ensure campers are in the designated areas for daily dismissal. 

• Conduct daily activities as instructed by Group Leaders. 

• Maintain structure for all activities. 

• Follow all policies and procedures as instructed and maintain standards of biblical holiness.  


Camp Aides (morning and afternoon Aides) 

Prepare breakfast and lunch at designated times. 

Proper disposal of waste from meals. 

Assist groups with chaperoning while outside play or offsite activities. 

Must accompany camp on trip days as chaperone and overseeing meals for campers. 

On trip days, clean up from breakfast/lunch and be ready for departure and outings at specified time(s). 

Inspect and begin making preparation for meals. 

Daily inspection and cleaning of rooms. 

Comply with all policies and procedures of Bethel Deliverance International Church as instructed. 

Maintain standards of Biblical holiness at all times.
