Food Preparation Lead
Monday - Friday (Eight week camp season)
Hours: (Candidate must be flexible)
Responsibilities include preparation of breakfast and lunch food items for our summer camp season.
Attend required training.
Estimates food orders based upon current camp population and planned menu.
Monitor inventory food levels and conditions; order food products and supplies accurately in a timely manner, assure proper storage and rotation of products.
Receives and examines food deliveries and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.
Help develop a menu based on the Summer Food Service Program (“SFSP”) meal pattern, and apply personal knowledge and experience in food preparation.
Plan, prepare and oversee the preparation and service of quality meals ensuring that each meal meets the SFSP nutritional standards.
Conduct pre-meal walk through daily to monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas.
Complete delivery and daily food service logs.
Interact with camp and administrative staff and attend weekly meetings to accomplish common goals in a timely manner.
Resolve minor food preparation concerns, when needed.
Perform others duties as required.
● A high school diploma or GED Certificate.
● Must have at least two years of experience working with food preparation and love children.
● Availability for the entire summer season (8 weeks) is expected.
FBI clearance, background check(s) and drug testing are required for all applicants.
