Time to Get Ready for School!

Parents, join us for the "Get Ready for School" Workshop, held on Saturday, August 29th, 9am - 3pm, in the Prayer Chapel. This day of roundtable discussions, interactive presentations and one on one conversations is designed to prepare students and parents in the transition years for the upcoming school year in the areas of Reading, Writing and Math. Areas of discussion include:

  • The Transition Years: What you need to know and do as a Parent and Student (Connecting with teachers, and administration, know what your students should be learning-curriculum, expectations, (K-1) (5-6) (8-9) (l2t11-College).
  • The Parent Portal (Using AI from Classroom to Home)
    •  The movement of AI in the classroom and how it translates/transitions to home
    • Understanding Title 1 School Program
    • How to utilize the Parent Portal effectively
    • Caution in utilizing AI: Constructing Essays, Projects, Plagiarism,
  • How Does My Child Learn? 
    • Knowing and understanding you and your child's learning style (Interactive Assessment
  • The Learning Struggle - My Child Is A Unique Learner.
    • Understanding children and learning challenges. The IE P process. What's next?
  • Getting Ready for College. • Round Table: Connecting students who are presently in college with the those who are preparing for college (11th and 12thgraders)
    • Parents talking with other parents regarding tips on preparing your child for college
